I love the "By Faith" chapter of the Bible. Hebrews 11 summarizes the many men and women who followed God by faith. The opening line of the chapter: Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. Isn't that amazing? We will be commended for being faithful because we are certain of our God (even though we aren't certain of all the details.)
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the people marched around them for seven days.
They were commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. We have seen SO much more than they did. We know Jesus paid the penalty for our sins once and for all.
By faith, we are preparing to leave in 5 weeks to move among those who do not yet know that their sins can be forgiven. By faith we believe that many will become followers of Jesus.
By faith....so many of you are supporting us. We are overwhelmed by your response and encouragement. This past week nearly all our remaining funds have come in. Praise God! May you also be commended for your faith - certain of what you hope for, certain of the Lord, even though you do not understand all His ways.

- We are SIM missionaries from rural Manitoba. After 12 years of teaching and discipling Sudanese refugees, we began church planting with the Gumuz people in Ethiopia where we have been for 5 years. We have 5 beautiful children. Kalia(14), Joel(12), Ariana(10), Nadia(7) and Sonia (5).
