7 more sleeps....

Well it is hot and muggy in Manitoba and I am quite glad for an air conditioned home.  That will not be the case much longer so we are enjoying it.   I believe we have nearly completed packing.  It has been a tedious job but 18 boxes/trunks are ready for Rolf to tape, strap and tag.

Tomorrow's job is to pack carryons and backpacks and let the kids practice with them!  Should be fun (for them anyways).   Today friends of ours left for the Philippines with 4 small children and as we have prayed for them, we have been encouraged.  We are not the only ones doing this.  It is possible.  The Lord is with us.

Highlights of the past week:  Celebrated 3 early birthdays, Kalia fell off a horse,  Joel's lego arrived at our door (that he bought with birthday money), DVBS started (the oldest 3 are attending), Ariana learned to swim, Sonia is crawling and Nadia learned the word "ache".

Nadia woke up this morning with a stomachache, (remembered the word and gave us 3 seconds before she threw up on the living room floor).  As she was hanging over the sink, Joel tenderly asked her if she was okay.  She immediately replied with the word, "Kay".  It was so sweet.   (She was fine after lunch and we are praying for a healthy week.)   Nadia's vocabulary is soaring....what fun!

I checked the weather for Addis Ababa and it is certainly rainy season.  The forecast is for rain ALL week and cool temperatures (20C) so the rain jackets will be carryons and I still need to find space for rubber boots.
