It is a blistering hot day in Gesses and the nights are no longer cooling off. One might think we are running away from the heat as we plan to travel to Injebara tomorrow afternoon (2 hour) and then to Addis the following day.
Unfortunately the climate change is so significant that we find it more challenging experiencing the cold than we do surviving in the heat! It will be a nice break though and the heat will still be here when we get back!
In the meantime, there are always cheers when we take out a frozen water bottle from the freezer and enjoy some cold water (by pouring into the empty cavity! I also try and freeze some sort of homemade smoothie or icecream to cool us off but I can't always keep up. We dream of buying 4 L cheap ice cream from the local co-op!
We are packing today as tomorrow all morning we have meetings and paperwork to do before we leave. We appreciate your prayer for safety as we travel Monday and Tuesday. Thank you!
