April medical team visit

It has been several weeks since the SIM doctor and nurse visited the Gesses station with their spouses and daughter.  Although I wrote about the week, I wanted to share some of the pictures that were taken that week.  Obviously it doesn't show you that it was the hottest week of the year.  It doesn't show you the lack of water or the fact or how many people waited several hours to be seen.    And it doesn't show the long hours that we all put it.  It also doesn't show all the work that Rolf and Jim did as they added on the room to our house.

It doesn't show you the spiritual and emotional needs that we saw but it does show you that the community we serve has real physical needs.  Dr. Obi spent each morning at the Yamp clinic where highland Ethiopians walked 5km from town for the goiter clinic.  It shows you the love and compassion that Dr. Obi and Nurse Minah had for the men, women and children that came.   It also shows that our kids enjoyed school time with Dr. Obi's wife and Minah's daughter.  Their visit was a gift not only to the Gumuz but to us as well.
