Planting season in Ethiopia

Last Friday as we drove to Addis, we saw dozens of farmers planting their spring crops.  These subsistent farmers work the soil with oxen and a wooden plough in some tough conditions.  In some areas, teff and barley will be grown and in the mountain areas, sorghum and maize.  These crops must produce enough to feed their families for the whole year and also be sold in order to buy clothes and household items.
