Food for Work – Rocks and Sand for Grain

Several cement pads will be constructed next week – one will form the base for a small guesthouse apartment and the other will form a base for a sitting area/verandah.   In order to do this cement work, sand must be collected from the nearby streams and rocks must be smashed into gravel.

Since all the grass on our compound has been cut and won’t need trimming for another week or two, we decided to move to the next project. Today, 15 women happily brought baskets of sand in exchange for grain  and I am sure there will be more tomorrow.
