Successful Christmas Drama & One unexpected “interruption”...

On December 24th, the children did their first performance for the Moore family.  We had a tortilla lunch together and after the drama, the kids played together and had Christmas cookies.
Our children did a super job and everyone was thoroughly impressed by all the lines and songs memorized.  Even the costume changes went smoothly.   There was just one unexpected event.....
As we were entering the second last scene, we heard someone approaching.   Sure enough ... Wotak had arrived.   The video camera was recording and the actors were changing into their final costumes (while the audience was singing a Christmas chorus.)
The doors were closed and we all knew what would happen next because his ways are by now very familiar.  He began to call loudly.  When we didn’t answer, he began pounding on the front door with his walking stick.  I couldn’t contain myself ... I started to giggle.  What would happen next?   If he knows we are in the house, he has just opened the door and walked right in.    Would Wotak enter at the final scene where the shepherds gather around baby Jesus?
Rolf intervened since his lines were over and motioned for him to wait.   The drama ended without any further interruption and I was almost disappointed that Wotak wasn’t able to see it.  Maybe next year he will get a special invitation.
