A weekend in Bahir Dar

It has been a nice break from the heat this weekend and I have been able to send some pictures for my sister to upload onto our blog.  Last night, we enjoyed an Ethiopian fireside.  The Coleman's guard built the fire (Ethiopian style) for us to enjoy.  He was so pleased to do this for us.  Once the fire is lit, it goes up in flames quickly and then the whole pile of wood topples with a crash.  It obviously causes some extra excitement and possibly some extra danger if one is not far enough away from the place it lands.

We went out for lunch today and the kids took turns climbing onto the lion statue until a guard came and told them they weren't allowed.  Phyllis also captured a picture of a paradise flycatcher.  Look at the length of the tail!
