This is truly amazing. This internet connection actually works. It is like the whole country has wireless....well almost (it stops before Geses) but times have changed and we are grateful. I am sitting in our little hotel in a small town called Gwacho. We left a little later than planned and drove 5 hours instead of 6. So we are 1/2 done and the children travelled amazing! No one was carsick. Smelling fresh lemons helps when the exhaust belches out of the big trucks we pass. The road was decent though lots of switchbacks as we went through a gorge or two and over a huge bridge constructed by Japan. It wasn't finished the last time we travelled this road.
We made it to this town at 7pm (twilight) and the disco music is blaring in the restaurant. The kids are pumped. PARTY time. Actually, we will go and eat some injera and spaghetti (the 2 main options available) and then have an early night.
Our plan is to leave about 5:30/6am so that we can arrive in Geses for lunch! We appreciate your prayers for safety on the road as we dodge many pedestrians, cows, donkeys, sheep, potholes, etc. Never a dull moment and Rolf is an excellent driver!
