Bugs and Butterflies, Bumps and Bruises

Thursday afternoon the children had a wonderful time chasing after butterflies with nets and finding jars to place them in.  They were so excited to catch different varieties and there were squeals of delight when they caught a monarch butterfly.  Hurlie got in on the action but spent more time either eating them or chasing them away.

Along with the fun always comes some drama.  Kalia accidentally swallowed a bug and she felt like it was stuck in her throat.  While running along the path to the Schwenks house, Ariana tripped and fell,  hitting her head on a rock.  All is well now and the day is over.  Time for washing feet and sitting down for supper.  Pumpkin cookies have been baked for tomorrow’s school snack and Rolf and Barry got 4 hours of building done on the school room this morning.  I look forward to sending you pictures in a few weeks!  We are getting closer to moving classroom time out of the living room and into a school room where materials can be conveniently organized and displayed.
