Tomorrow (Sunday) is a special day. Three Gumuz men will be commissioned as elders here in Gesses. We desire to see the Gumuz church flourish and grow reaching the thousands of Gumuz who have not received the good news.
One of the reasons it is exciting to see Gumuz take on leadership is because we believe this is what will truly allow the gospel to penetrate into Gumuz land. It is not a white man’s gospel or a “red” man’s gospel (highlanders). The gospel is for all people. We have seen beautiful characteristics in the different cultures we have lived among. We see beauty in the Gumuz people as well.
