Living in a country that has so little medical infrastructure can be extremely frustrating. We sent several patients to another town last weekend and today we heard that the 2 year old girl died. She had some major malnutrition on top of whatever else she was suffering from.
The Tb baby was given some more antibiotics not TB medication. I feel helpless. The sputum test came back negative (which happens 20-50% of the time here). She has at least 7 symptoms all pointing to TB but because the test is negative she won’t get treated.
We need wisdom as a team in knowing how to meet the many needs that come to us each day.
